Stevens Hall History

Stevens Hall is a residence hall built in the summer of 1895. It is the second oldest building still standing on campus, and the oldest operating residence hall west of the Mississippi. Except for a year-long closure for rehabilitation work in 1958, it has been in continuous use since its completion. The building was named after Isaac Stevens, the first territorial governor of Washington. Today, Stevens still functions as a women’s residence hall.
